Message from the Journals Chairs

A CHI Journals presentation gives authors the opportunity to get increased exposure for their journal article by presenting it at the conference while also benefiting from the greater continuity of the journal review process. CHI Journals invites selected authors of articles already accepted to either ACM Transactions on Computer-Human Interaction (ToCHI) or ACM Transactions on Social Computing (TSC) to present their work at the conference. Historically, we also have accommodated presentation slots for articles published at other HCI journals, but invitations to such articles depend on the availability of space.

Submissions to CHI Journals are by INVITATION ONLY. Invitations will be sent by the CHI Journals chair (journals@chi2026.acm.org) to the corresponding author of papers. Invited authors are then required to submit details on their journal article to PCS. All unsolicited submissions will be rejected.

Invitations are usually made within one year of a paper being accepted by the journal. For example, papers being invited for presentations at CHI 2026 will normally have been accepted between November 2024 and October 2025. Authors should also be aware that each ToCHI and TSC paper can be presented at only one ACM conference.Invited authors who would like to present their journal articles at CHI 2026 must make a complete submission in PCS. It is important to note that any submission that is incomplete or that does not fulfill the requirements for presentation at the conference will not be considered for inclusion in the program. Authors are required to present their work in a scheduled session with other CHI Papers. The details of the presentation formats (e.g. duration, and live/pre-recorded presentation) will be sent by email to the corresponding author.

ACM’s Publication Policies

Authors must review ACM’s publications policies. Please read this separate page for them.

Video Presentations

Authors can optionally upload a video presentation (a presentation video of your accepted work) by the video presentation deadline of Thursday, March 12, 2026. See technical requirements for video content at CHI for guidance when preparing a video presentation. Accepted authors will receive the details of video presentations separately.

Your Paper at the Conference

Authors of accepted papers are required to present their work at CHI 2026, and the presenting author must register for their paper presentations. Further instructions regarding the presentation of the work will be shared closer to the conference dates.
